Cleber Gazana, 27, experimental sound constructor, drummer and designer. Actually lives and works in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During the last decade his work has focused on the development of works of graphic design, electro-acoustic music production and experimental digital sound. Practically the artist is inspired by non-musical works, such as graphic design, with colors, lines, shapes, styles and also in works of industrial music, minimalist, electronic, atmospheric, where one of these activities influence each other.

Usually the work is born from the need to express a concept through the imagination of the composer that he feels the opportunity to compose it through the manipulation and treatment of the noise and of the analogical or digital signal, revealing its aesthetics to the listener. Often the very generate of a noisy pulse is enough to justify the creation of an experimental work of the artist, so hardly a work ends, will may be resumed or created from another point of view, resulting another interpretation, therefore, another sound work very different of the first.

Simplicity and minimalism are the key searches in most of the work produced by Cleber Gazana. His creation usually includes noise, fine lines, simple shapes and frequencies. Thus, unity, emphasis and the simplicity are ideals and sufficient to produce the desired sound.

Indeed, the concept and creation process is much more interesting than the final outcome, because here it stops a flow of thoughts that could have no end (if that were possible).

Working with different creation processes in each new work, provides a direction and a different outcome, without losing the simplistic and minimalist essence of the project. The important thing is to seek new ideas.

His production with Simple . N o r m a l, along with another sound and audiovisual project, were on exhibition during the Electronic Language International Festival (FILE) in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009.

FILE is the largest art and technology festival from Brazil. It accomplishes a compilation of artistic productions in the field of the electronic and digital arts, working as an indicator of the plurality of those productions now. The participant works of the FILE are resulted of an intense research and selection that brings to the surface a great variety of brazilian and international productions. In this event they announce artists of everyone, with works in the areas of net art, hipertext, interactive movies, landscape, games, software art, generative art, artificial intelligence, robotics, experimental music, error-music, radio art, sound landscape, sound poetry, anti-music, performance, interactive installations and electronic installations.*
