Project
Simple . N o r m a l is a project of experimental electronic sound construction *, created by Cleber Gazana in 2004 after years of experience with other musical styles.
His work emphasizes the compositional processes that interact with the new technological means almost always processed in the computing environment, using different creative processes in each new work.
Based on the contemporary digital culture uses in his musical creation, modulators, sequencers, filters and other virtuals softwares, as well as MIDI controllers, keyboards, synthesizers, and also sounds of iron bars and unusual instruments recorded in the studio to perform songs that explore the aesthetics of different sounds.
Simple . N o r m a l aims to work the new possibilities of music creation based in sound software, synthesizers and sequencers, but doesn't have the objective of really to do music, but work with frequencies, sounds, noises, textures, limitless in its construction.
So focused on contemporary aesthetics and musical forms, the project is not restricted to any predetermined style, so it is only labeled as experimental electronic music. His music is independent of any style and can be minimal, random, concrete, anarchical, ambient, electronic, according to the theme of work in progress.
The work based on the digital world and in the systems of electronic circuits designed by the engineering and computer scientists, whether low or high definition, resolution or fidelity, creates ideal conditions for production and development of experimentation, creating a composition sometimes mechanical, others abstract.
In these cases the softwares synthesizers are very useful to stimulate our musical perception and its endless trials.
Thus, creating a continuous flow of music cycles, simple scales, sometimes even wrong, it creates experimental music of Simple . N o r m a l leaving us immersed in constellations of electronic/digital signals.
As the name tells us, simplicity is the fundamental form to the aesthetics of the sound produced by Simple. N o r m a l. You must remember that all sounds are manipulated and their creation is assembled and sequenced, because the music at most times, are not written, but rather created randomly.

*Interpretations of experimental music:
It is a type of music that defies all normal ideas of how a song should be and surpasses the limits popularly known. Thus, there is no agreement on how experimental music can be before being just considered noise. Usually experimental artists uses a little known instruments, modified, or used in innovative ways and strange effects applied in unconventional ways. Besides musical instruments, experimental music can also make use of sounds of objects and various effects according to the composer's intention, experiencing the sounds as the name says. Are common also mixes musical styles, creating sometimes unclassifiable compositions in a single trend. Download: press release project (72kb) |
